Audio Samples Below
Jazz Fusion band from the ‘80s featuring:
Ted Baker – Keys; Chico Huff – Bass; Tom Cohen – Drums;
Skip Spratt – Tenor Sax; Squirrel [Frank Williams] – Percussion.
Recorded at Strata Recording Studios in Folsom, PA between April 1988 and December of 1989, Mark Knox, engineer [Strata Studios is longer in existence]. The original analogue recording quality is not too bad, all things considered! It was converted to digital format and re-mixed at Morningstar Studios in October of 2004, Dave Schonauer , engineer. They still need to be mastered which I hope to do at some point. The material is copyrighted - All Rights Reserved.
Unfortunately, these four recordings were never made into a cd and are all that remains of this band other than a photo taken at a gig in Baltimore and the lead sheets to the music. We performed a number of gigs with various personnel for about two years or so then disbanded. The band that performed usually consisted of Dave Falciani – Keys; Craig Thomas – Bass; Vic Stevens – Drums and Squirrel– Percussion [as pictured at a gig in Baltimore]. We had some good times and I do miss Dave Falciani who most tragically passed away in 2007. For more on his music see the following links: http://www.myspace.com/okojumu; http://www.davefalciani.com/.
Here is a nice version of one of his tunes Horizon Watcher:

The four recordings were made possible in part by a generous contribution by my father, Lee Adler.
All of the players went on to interesting careers in music. Of particular note is Ted Baker who went on to play for Philip Glass and Steely Dan among other notables in the music business which I think is pretty cool…
The four compositions were written by myself and Ted Baker - Baker Street & Sandcastles – Ted; Sunset Mountain & Desert Jewel – me. Baker Street is also the name of Gerry Rafferty's 1978 pop hit named after a street in London. Although he might have named it after himself, I recall that Ted's is named after a street in the Manayunk neighborhood of Philadelphia where he lived for a while and where he was living when he recorded with me.
These recordings bring back a lot of great memories for me –like another world. Of course, the playing is great and I am honored to have had the opportunity to play with these musicians. These recordings are sort of like an unfinished painting –not sure if it will ever be completed though – too much time has lapsed and all if not most of our musical interests are in other places now. Just wanted to include it on the site. I still enjoy listening to the cuts as I hope you do too.
