Over the years there are certain song forms and harmonic progressions that I have always turned to for the creative comfort they provide. They engage my need to be creative, their harmonic landscape comforting as if it were a familiar and welcoming town or village. I hope you enjoy listening to how I navigate my way unaccompanied through some of my favorite harmonic landscapes in some interesting acoustic settings. They are short musical explorations that are never exactly the same. Regarding Mischievous Syrinx: Syrinx was written by Claude Debussy in 1913 and is a beloved staple of most flutist’s repertoire. It has been performed and recorded by the most revered and talented flutists around the world. My interpretation is a bit michievous in that I depart from the original work throughout and have my own unique ending.
